Seattle Seahawks NFL Draft Profile
How the Seahawks draft: the front office running the board, the needs shaping the next class, and every draft class we cover.
Front office and philosophy
General manager: John Schneider · Head coach: Mike Macdonald
Defending Super Bowl champions reloading rather than rebuilding. John Schneider is one of the league's most active traders and has a long-documented bias toward length, athletic testing and positional versatility. Mike Macdonald's disguise-heavy, pattern-match defense demands defensive backs who can align anywhere, which is exactly what the 2026 class (four DBs) targeted. With 10 of 12 above-70.0 defenders returning, the pressing need is interior offensive line: the one genuine weakness on a championship roster.
Schneider has traded down more often than almost any GM in the league and prizes athletic profile and arm/leg length over production. Seattle won Super Bowl LX in Macdonald's second season at 14-3. Anthony Bradford has not graded above 55.0 in three straight years and still starts at right guard, making interior OL the clearest 2027 target. Losing OC Klint Kubiak to the Raiders head-coaching job is the main threat to a repeat.
These tendencies are encoded directly into the simulator: when you run a mock and the Seahawks are on the clock, the engine applies this regime's positional biases and its balance between best-player-available and need-based drafting. See how the simulator works for the full methodology.
